About our Group
The group responsible for the creation of this website was born out of a meeting at Arvada City Hall on Thursday, February
19, 2026. A group of Faith leaders from various Churches in Arvada met with leaders from the City of Arvada, and asked
'how can the Faith Community come together to serve the homeless even better than we already do?'
We came to the conclusion that while lots of folks from various churches were indeed doing a lot for the un-housed of Arvada,
we could aspire to do even more by pooling our efforts.
Our mission is:
'Improve communication and collaboration in the Arvada Faith Community to drive better results for the Homeless'
After lots of discussion and evaluation of what had worked in the past, and what had not worked, we decided that
we needed to improve in the following areas:
- Make it easy to find out what everyone is doing
- Understand exactly how we are serving at any given time
- Understand areas of need, and work together to expedite solutions wherever possible
- Should we have video and document library? Let folks search for and store interesting stuff?
- Build a volunteer 'bank' where volunteers can post their contact info and areas of interest, and those looking for
volunteers can send requests to and entire block of volunteers with a click of a button.
Ideas
This website will not get any traction unless there are specific tools that offer something to
visitors. What are some ideas on how to drive interest?
- Provide a single source of information about all the organizations involved with the homeless, and the kinds of projects
underway. This 'current state' view shows what's being done now, and begs the question 'what else should we be doing - what's missing?'
- Volunteer Bank - give individuals a place to sign up for some kind of project (i.e. baking cookes), and give churches
and other organizations a way to reach out to those individuals asking for help.
- Give Churches a way to publicize events beyond just their own websites. Our 'communications' person
is usually overloaded, and giving churches alternative ways to let their people update web content could be helpful.
